Connect a supplier
Link your practice's account with a supplier so its catalog, prices and orders come through Wren.
Wren connects to each supplier's account for your locations, so the catalog, prices and orders you see are your own rather than a public list. This article shows how to read the Suppliers page and how to connect a supplier that is on Wren.
The Suppliers page
Open Suppliers under Shop. Each supplier has a card with its logo, its name and how many products are in its catalog, shown as Products in Catalog.
- A green verified badge on the logo means Wren is linked directly to that supplier.
- A GPO tag means group purchasing contracts apply.
- A connected supplier shows Catalog, which opens its products in Wren, and, for suppliers that offer it, Punchout, which opens the supplier's own site. See Punchout.
A supplier that is not fully connected shows its state at the foot of the card instead:
| Card says | What it means |
|---|---|
| Start Connection | You have not connected this supplier yet. |
| Connection is Pending | Your request is waiting on the supplier. |
| Connection is Disabled | The supplier has been switched off for your account. |
| Your attention is needed | A step needs you before the connection can go ahead. |
If some of your locations are connected and others are still waiting, an info icon on the card shows how many locations are pending.
Start a connection
Account admins connect suppliers.
- Open Suppliers under Shop.
- On the supplier's card, press Start Connection.
- Press Do You Already Have An Account With the supplier.
- On Locations to Connect, tick Connect for each location that buys from this supplier, or use Select all.
- For each ticked location, choose its Bill to, enter the Account ID# (your customer number with the supplier) and choose a Sales Contact. If the contact is not listed, press Add Sales Contact. Included Emails is optional: it chooses colleagues who are copied on this supplier's orders.
- Press Continue.
- On Final Step!, review each location with its Ship To, Bill To, Sales Contact, Account ID# and Included Emails.
- Press Send Request.
Wren sends the request to the supplier. The card reads Connection is Pending until the supplier finishes its side. Connections depend on the supplier's own queue, so they can take some time.
When a card needs you
Pressing Connection is Pending, Connection is Disabled or Your attention is needed opens the supplier's settings, where you can check each location's connection. See Supplier settings.
Find a supplier that is not listed
Press Connect Suppliers and type the supplier's name. Wren lists matching suppliers. If the one you buy from is not on Wren, you can still add it yourself. See Suppliers not on Wren.
