Connect your suppliers

Link your supplier accounts to Wren so their catalogs, your prices and your orders all come through one place.

Wren connects to your account with each supplier, location by location. Once a supplier is connected, its catalog appears in Wren with the prices your practice is charged and what the supplier has in stock, and your orders go to it as purchase orders. This article is an overview; the step-by-step guides are linked below.

Before you start

  • Add your locations first. Supplier accounts belong to a location, so each site needs to exist in Wren before you connect it. See Add locations.
  • Have your account numbers ready. For each supplier, you need your account number at each location and a sales contact there.

Where your suppliers live

Open Shop in the sidebar and choose Suppliers. Each supplier has a card, and the card tells you where its connection stands:

  • Account Is Connected: the catalog and your prices are ready to shop.
  • Connection is Pending: Wren is setting the connection up with the supplier.
  • Your attention is needed: there is a step left for you. The card says which.
  • Start Connection: a supplier you haven't connected yet.

Connect a supplier Wren works with

  1. Open Shop > Suppliers.
  2. Find the supplier and press Start Connection on its card.
  3. Give your account number and a sales contact for each location.
  4. Wren does the rest and keeps you posted on the card as the connection goes live.

Add a supplier Wren isn't linked to

Some of the people you buy from have no link to Wren: a dental lab, a janitorial supplier, a rep who takes orders by email. You can add them yourself with Connect Suppliers on the Suppliers page. Wren keeps them with your other suppliers and sends them your purchase orders, so every order still lives in one place. See Suppliers not on Wren.

Shop a connected supplier

On each connected supplier's card:

  • Catalog opens that supplier's products inside Wren.
  • Punchout, for suppliers that offer it, opens the supplier's own site. What you pick there comes back to your Wren cart. See Punchout.

Choose what your team can buy

Account admins can see every supplier in one directory under Account Settings > Suppliers, with how each one is connected and the catalogs built from it. See Catalogs and access.
