Mark an invoice paid

Record that an invoice has been paid, so it stops counting as open.

Once an invoice has been paid, tell Wren. Invoice Paid records the payment and closes the invoice, so it no longer counts as open on the order. When every invoice on an order is paid and everything has arrived, the order completes by itself.

Wren records that you paid. The payment itself is made the way your practice already pays its suppliers.

Before you mark it paid

Check the invoice first, so you only record payment for what you actually received:

  • Requested and billed quantities and prices agree, line by line.
  • What was billed has arrived, on the order's Shipments tab.
  • Any credit memo for the order shows under Credits in the Invoice Summary.

See Check an invoice for the full three-way match.

Mark an invoice paid

  1. Open the order and press its Invoices tab, or find the invoice on the Invoices page.
  2. Press the invoice to open it.
  3. At the bottom of the invoice, a bar shows the amount due and the status, Open.
  4. Once your practice has paid the invoice, press Invoice Paid.

The status now reads Closed and the Invoice Paid button is gone, since there is nothing left to do.

What changes on the order

  • The order's Open Invoices counter goes down by one.
  • On the order's Invoices tab, the invoice shows as Closed.
  • If this was the last open invoice and everything has been received, the order turns Completed on its own.
