Receive a delivery
Mark what arrived as received, so the order and your inventory update together.
When a box arrives, receiving it in Wren does two jobs at once: it counts the items as arrived on the order, and it adds them to your inventory at the location they were shipped to. What you hold on the shelf then matches what was delivered.
Receive from the Shipments page
- Open Shipments in the sidebar.
- Find the shipment. Pressing Delivered next to Shipment Status shows the boxes the carrier has dropped off.
- Press Receive on the shipment's row. The row opens with every item still to be received ticked.
- Untick anything that did not arrive.
- Press Mark as received in the bar that appears.
- For each item, fill in the details for your inventory (see below) and press Add to Inventory. When there are several items, Wren takes you through them one at a time, and the button reads Create for each.
You can also tick single items in an open shipment instead of using Receive, then press Mark as received.
Lot, expiry and quantity
For each item you receive, Wren asks:
- New Lot Name/Number: type the lot from the box, or pick one you already have from the suggestions. Choose No Lot number for items without one.
- Expiration Date: the expiry printed on the box, if it has one.
- Quantity: how many arrived. It starts at the quantity ordered.
These details go straight into your inventory, so you can see lots and expiry dates later on the item's page.
A box that is not marked delivered yet
Sometimes a box arrives before the carrier's tracking says so. If you receive a shipment that is not marked Delivered, Wren asks Confirm you've received these items? Check the items are physically in front of you, then press Yes, I've received them. Press Go Back if you are not sure.
Receive from the order
You can also receive from the order itself.
- Open the order and press its Shipments tab.
- Open the shipment and tick the items that arrived.
- Press Mark as received.
The order's Open Shipments counter goes down once a shipment is received.
A short delivery
If only part of a shipment arrived, tick only the items that came and leave the rest unticked. The items you leave stay open on the order, so you can receive them when they turn up. Each item shows its Order Qty and Received Qty, so a short delivery is easy to spot.
